Some leaders are humble. Others are driven. The great ones are both.

Arrogance ignores and rejects ideas from others – humility welcomes them.
Arrogance means, “I can’t take in information from others.”
This article talks about leaders with arrogance or humility and says you can't have both. It says that arrogance tends to increase as people 'rise to the top" of power.
Distance creates arrogance. The further you are from the front line, the more likely you are an arrogant leader.
This is one of the reasons I think it is really important for Principals- even of really big shoals to stay in touch with classroom teaching in some form.
Build humble organizations by promoting humble people and protecting them from the dangers of power.
